MVC you later?

Some initial thoughts on the new Microsoft MVC framework...

MC you later?
I recently became exposed to the MVC beta Frame work for Visual Studio 2008 and I have to say that I am impressed. A while ago someone showed my Ruby on Rails(RoR) and I was surprised and excited by the new technology. You could write a functional app in like 8 lines of code. I never adapted RoR because I was slow to pick up Ruby and being a .Net programmer I was a little protective of my C# skills.
I recently started exploring RoR like functionality with the new MVC framework that Microsoft was offering. I came away quite impressed. Microsoft's MVC model takes everything thing that is good about the Rails framework and implements it using the .Net framework by maintaining the underlining structure, but changing the meaning of certain files. The Global.asax file now becomes your Model Controller file and you still use C#( or VB) to code the controllers. I have to say that the introductory video blew me away. Now .Net coders can use what they already learned (C#, .NET, ASPX controls) and apply there programming knowledge to a new framework very, very quickly. You can watch the video here
Finally a kudos to Microsoft for doing something the right way for once.

It definitely stretches the limits with the mind when you go through very good info and make an effort to interpret it properly.
